Simplicity

There be no big city lights
or thunderous displays -
just gently rolling waves
and a soft midnight harmony.

There be no towering mountains
or deeply dug out valleys -
just ever expansive farmlands
and ripe green forests.

There isn't anything complicated
on this here Eastern Shore,
just as simple as it can be.

With the Chesapeake to the west
and the great Atlantic to the east,
our heritage was born on the water.

Thank God for this life we have -
there is non' simpler
than this here Eastern Shore.
