The Road Ahead

Burdening you it is,
all the troubles and pains
you've been dealt in life.
Heavy are they,
like chains of iron and dread,
that they weigh you down.
Though hard are the steps
on the road you take,
though difficult are the trials
you face each day,
never give up.

Hope there is to see
as you look ahead.
Dark are the clouds
in the sky,
but bright
is the sun and light.
Gaze not in the past behind,
but look onward
to the life ahead.
Hope and life
lie in the sky above,
breaking through the
storm ahead.

Alone you are not
in thr trials and change.
Around you we are -
friends,
and kin -
always to give air.
The path traveled alone
is weary and hard,
but with us beside you
the easier it becomes.  
Your back and shield
we are -
with you every step
on the way ahead.
