For starters, disregard the prior "update" journal I had posted, somethings have changed since then and they should be addressed along with what else I have to share.
My lack of activity has been mostly in due to several things:
1) Lack of motivation brought about by depression and anxiety
2) Reaction from poison Sumac
3) Work on commission(s)
Starting with number 1, I have finally swallowed my pride about it and gone to a doctor. I was diagnosed with depression and was given medication to help control it, which is proving to help a lot. Its still gonna be a week at most now until the full effects should be felt, but I am already noticing different changes in my behavior. I have been working on a commissioned painting lately, a good sign of progress for me.
Secondly, I have been working for my local school district for the past three summers on their contracted landscaping job. Over these three summers (one being the current season), I have been in contact with different kinds of plants and animals/insects. The past two summers, though, I have had one instance each where I accidentally touched a plant known as Poison Sumac. It isn't a deadly plant, more so it produces similar effects like that of the more known Poison Ivy or Oak. This summer, though, it produced a worse reaction - my leg ended up swelling to double its size and had a weeping cut on it. I waited a few days to have it checked out, but I ended up getting prescribed some antibiotics to handle it. Long story short, I had been dealing with that this month and its taken most of my focus. Luckily, the cut is healed up and the symptoms from the Poison Sumac have been disappearing as well.
And thirdly, I have been delayed on getting back on here because I am currently working on some commissions for folks that have been waiting a while for their pieces. Right now I am working on a painting that was commissioned by someone I know for a relative who is going through a bad time. The design of the piece is simple, yet complicated enough that it takes time to make progress on it.
As another bit of news as well, concerning the OCs I gave to my good friend
dragon-man13. I will admit, I made that decision while in a very depressed state, but after talking with him a bit it was decided that the three characters - Niric, Plenta, and Filon - will be co-owned by us two. It sounds a little complicated, at least to me as I write this, but we are both knowing of the other enough where we have the same base about how we will use them. So this means that the three characters will be made in more pieces to come, but they might also be featured in pieces made by
dragon-man13.
Thanks for being with me through all this mess, can't wait to get back on and make some changes and progress on the site.
